Q: What is Sports Genesis?

Answer:  

  1. Sports Genesis is a classified 501(c)(3) non-profit program.
  2. Through private funding support Sports Genesis fills a need for the communities that do not have the department resources or do not have the appropriate funds to start the development process of new athletic fields, parks or the renovation of existing facilities.

  

Q: How is Sports Genesis able to provide theses services for no fee?

Answer:  

  1. Through the generous support from our private sponsors.

  

Q: How are communities, parks districts or recreation agencies selected?

Answer:  

  1. Currently we are screening applications and will contact all eligible groups to discuss their project.

 

Q: Who is eligible to apply?  

Answer: 

  1. Public Municipalities and Park Departments
  2. Park and Recreation Districts
  3. School Districts and Universities
  4. Community Sports Associations
  5. Youth Sports Programs and Leagues or their Representatives
  6. Home Owner's Associations

  

Q: What type of projects are eligible?

Answer: 

  1. New Park Property Improvements
  2. Renovations to Existing Recreation Facilities or Parks
  3. Athletic Facility or Field Improvements
  4. Recreation Master Planning
  5. Facility / Building Master Planning
  6. Landscape Design and Planning
  7. Campus Master Planning  

  

Q: How does contacting Sports Genesis help?

Answer:  

  1. By  identifying as many needs as possible we are able to approach and present these documented needs to other funding sources .

  

Q: How does the typical Sports Genesis model work?

Answer:  Scenario #1 

  1. Sports Genesis has identified the need in numerous communities or agencies.
  2. Through the general fund, supported by private donations, Sports Genesis selects an eligible Community or Agency to provide a master plan service package.

  

Q: Are there other models?

Answer:  Scenario #2

  1. Interested Supporters forward a contact name and info to Sports Genesis from the community they are located in.
  2. We speak directly to this contact on behalf of the Supporter indicating that the Supporter would like to be involved in a community outreach program in their community.
  3. Through a meeting, Sports Genesis identifies the needs of the Community.
  4. Sports Genesis reports back to the Supporter on these needs.
  5. The Supporter decides if they are interested in supporting any of these needs.
  6. If so, Sports Genesis puts together a fee proposal, for Supporter approval, indicating the costs and scope of services to move forward on the selected project.

  1. Sports Genesis has already identified a need in a community with Supporter ties.
  2. Sports Genesis reports to a potential Supporter on these needs.
  3. The Supporter decides if they are interested in supporting this need.
  4. If so, Sports Genesis puts together a fee proposal, for Supporter approval, indicating the costs and scope of services to move forward on the selected project.
  5. Sports Genesis speaks directly to the community on behalf of the Supporter indicating that the Supporter would like to start this specific community outreach program.
